The Nottingham Lions begin their 2014/15 NIHL Laidler D2 campaign with a visit to Blackburn Arena to face the Eagles, on Saturday 6th September (5.45pm).

It is a repeat of the Lions' opening fixture last season, which saw them take home a comfortable 9-1 victory, helped along by braces from Joe Wightman and Christy Johnson-Brown.

Slawomir Kasprzak in action at Blackburn Arena last season.

However, Nottingham are not expecting such a mammoth result this time around, knowing the Eagles have strengthend considerably during last season and over the summer months and will now certainly pose a substantial threat to Matt Bradbury's men.

The Lions' opening home fixture at the National Ice Centre, is a tasty derby clash against local rivals Sheffield Senators on Sunday 14th September (7.30pm).

2014 ends with a home clash against league-returnees Bradford Bulldogs on Sunday 21st December (7.30pm), whilst the Lions also begin 2015 at home, as Deeside Dragons visit the NIC on Sunday 4th January (7.30pm).

Nottingham's regular season also ends in the Den, with what's is sure to be a fantastic battle with Midlands rivals Solihull Barons, on Sunday 29th March (7.30pm).
