The Nottingham Lions will be looking to keep in touch with the top-end of the Laidler Conference table this Sunday evening, as they prepare to take on second-placed Deeside Dragons at Deeside Ice Arena (6.40pm).

Craig Wallis battles with the Dragons’ Chris Jones at Deeside Ice Rink, back in November.

Nottingham currently sit in fourth place, three points behind their hosts and eight points behind runaway leaders Solihull Barons.

The Dragons will be reeling after Saturday afternoon’s 3-2 defeat in Sheffield and will no doubt be gunning to salvage their double-header weekend, with two points against the visiting Lions and get their title challenge back on track.

Deeside remain the only team in the league that Nottingham have yet to beat or take any points from this season.

Both meetings between the two sides so far in this campaign took place in November, with goals from Luke Branin and Robert Perks unable to prevent a 4-2 defeat at the National Ice Centre. Then, three weeks later, the Lions went down to a narrow 2-1 loss in Wales, Perks again netting the solitary goal.

Head Coach Matt Bradbury will be hoping to call upon Stephen Breisner, James Francis-Barrie and Reece Glossop, who all missed out on last Sunday’s 3-2 home win over local rivals Sheffield Senators.

Don’t forget, if you can’t make the trip to North Wales to cheer on the boys, you can keep up to date with all the action as it happens, by following the Lions’ official Twitter feed from 6.30pm.
