The Nottingham Lions will be aiming to give their play off qualification chances a much-needed boost, as they face Deeside Dragons at the National Ice Centre on Sunday evening (7.30pm).
The Dragons remain the only side that the Lions have not taken any points from this season, and Sunday’s clash is Nottingham’s final chance to rectify this, after three narrow defeats by their Welsh opponents, so far this campaign.
Early November saw the first meeting between the two sides but goals from Luke Branin and Rob Perks were unable to prevent a 4-2 defeat at the NIC.
Solitary goals from Perks and Branin on the 24th November and 12th January respectively, were also not enough to secure any points, during their two trips to Deeside Ice Rink, as the Lions were unfortunate to lose both games by a 2-1 scoreline.
Nottingham will be looking to bounce-back from last Sunday’s uncharacteristic 5-1 road defeat at Widnes, whilst the Dragons are also looking to pick themselves back up, after a 4-2 loss at Coventry last weekend.
Christy Johnson-Brown remains doubtful to make a return to the line-up and he could be joined by Jospeh Steeples, who picked up a nasty facial injury during last weekend’s game against Widnes. New signing Ben Foster-Wilson looks set to make his second career, home debut.
Don’t forget this Sunday’s game is also the first of our five remaining home games, where you take advantage of our newly announced, special ticket offers.
A child can now gain free entry with every paying adult (one child per adult), whilst Panthers season ticket holders can now get in free.
(Please remember, you will still need to visit the box office in order to obtain a ticket for your free entry to the rink.)
So come on down to the NIC on Sunday and help roar on the boys in their quest for play off qualification and with the Panthers playing away that evening, there really is no better time to experience a Lions fixture. Full ticket details are available by clicking here.
