The Nottingham Lions head to the seaside tomorrow (Saturday) for their first ever meeting with the Fylde Flyers at the Sub Zero Ice Rink, Cleveleys. (5pm Face-Off).

Youngsters Tom Hovell and Ollie Betteridge will be included in the Lions squad for the first time alongside Jamie Hovell and Captain Luke Thomas who will make his second career Lions debut. Sam Gospel will be on netminding duties.

Lions’ Head Coach Matt Bradbury spoke to nottinghamlions.co.uk yesterday and was cautiously optomistic about the teams chances, saying;

“Training tonight was looking good – all the guys were working hard and gelling together well. We’ve got a lot of work to do this season but we’ll take it a step at a time – it’s the first two points of the season up for grabs for both teams so we’ll go in there an give it our best shot.”

“We’re expecting a big challenge – Fylde are going to be strong at home, they know they’re way around their own rink. It’s a small rink so we know we’re going to have an “in-your-face” style game - it’s going to be bump ‘n’ grind all night and it will make for an exciting first trip away.”

If you’re unable to travel up to Lancashire with the boys you can keep up to date with the action as it happens by following the Lions’ Official Twitter Page.
