The Nottingham Lions will go head-to head with Great Britain Under-20s on Tuesday 3rd November 2015 at the National Ice Centre as part of GB's preparations for the IIHF World Championship (Division 1B) later this year.

GB are off to Megeve in France in December for this year’s tournament, after winning promotion from Division 2A and the gold medal in Tallinn last year.

The fixture is a repeat of last year’s fixture, which was part of GB’s build-up for the success in Estonia.

Nottingham Lions Head Coach, Matt Bradbury, said: "We are excited to host this game again at the National Ice Centre for the second year.  It fits nicely into our game schedule and an opportunity for players to remain match sharp.  The game gives hockey fans in the East Midlands the opportunity to see some of the best players Britain has to offer at 20's level and there will be some top hockey players being showcased we hope that people will come down and support the players and our chosen charity."

"As with last year's fixture we are hoping to announce some additional ex Nottingham Junior players that have progressed from the Lions to play in the EPL and Elite League to really ensure that we push the National team's level of play."

GB U20s Head Coach, Tom Watkins, said: “This will really help in our build-up to the World Championship in December.

“We got our preparations spot on last year and came away with a gold medal and the game against the Lions was a vital part of it.

“I would like to thank the Lions for helping us stage this match again. It will be great for the squad to get some vital match practice.”

All tickets are priced at just £3 and can be purchased from the National Ice Centre Box Office on the night of the game, with all proceeds going to Special Olympics Nottinghamshire.  More information in the build up to follow.
