The Nottingham Lions were delighted to present figure skater Megan McFarlane with a cheque for £600 before their final game of the 2014/15 season on Sunday 29th March, against the Solihull Barons, on the ice at the National Ice Centre.

megLions captain Luke Thomas and Solihull Barons' Perry Doyle present the cheque to Megan and her father Cory.

The Lions announced Special Olympics Nottinghamshire as their first ever charity partner back in July 2014 and Megan was selected as the first to benefit from Nottingham' s fund raising activities during their recent NIHL Laidler D2 campaign.

Many Lions supporters will remember Megan's guest appearance during the first intermission of last November's charity match against Great Britain Under-20s, where she stole the show, putting on a performance that kept the crowd in their seats and the players cheering from the benches as she worked through her routine.

All of the funds raised will go towards the Kneesall-based youngster's training fees and the Lions would like to wish the extremely talented Megan the best of luck for the future, as she embarks upon a bright skating career.
