It was Widnes Wild's night in Nottingham on Sunday evening as they beat the Lions 4-1 at the National Ice Centre. Ten games into the season It was only the Lions second loss. Head Coach Matt Bradbury spoke to nottinghamlions.co.uk to give his early verdict.
"It was a difficult night for the team, I thought we worked hard all night put pucks to the net and we see that with the 57 shots on target but we didn't do the simple things and follow up and get our noses dirty and play with the same intensity around the net when it mattered.
"There are a couple of goals that Hovey will want back, but there were also times when he stood tall and made some consecutive saves that looked like guaranteed goals."
"We had players that weren't sharp enough on the night and some players that's heads were clearly not in the game."
