The Nottingham Lions are delighted to announce the return of promising, homegrown forward Daniel Hazeldine for the 2014/15 NIHL Laidler D2 campaign.
The 19 year-old, sniping playmaker is another player who has shined throughout his development, with the 2013/14 season marking his first year playing full time for the Lions' pride.
Daniel or 'Bingo' to his teammates, made a big impact on the ice last term, with 14 goals and 16 assists in 25 games for the speedy centre, leaving him second in the points standings.
Head coach Matt Bradbury took the time to speak to notthinghamlions.co.uk and summarised the disappointing finale to the youngster's first full senior season and outlined what we can expect from the local lad this coming season;
"Last season ended cruelly for Bingo as with ten seconds left in the play off final he had a one-on-one breakaway with the Solihull netminder, which could have given us a well deserved play off victory - nine times out of ten he would have put the chance away but unfortunately it was not to be - I think that experience will strengthen his game, as I know it wasn't a feeling he enjoyed."
"Expectation from the coaching staff for Bingo is high and there's no doubt he has awesome speed and skill, the main area we need him to improve is that he can be a little one dimensional and needs to work on a few more trademark moves - he's only young so hopefully we'll see more variety, which will then give us even more offence, equating to more goals."
The Lions have bagged another exciting talent for the new season and with the start of pre-season training just around the corner and lots of players still to announce, keep checking back here at nottinghamlions.co.uk for more signing news soon!
