The Solutions For Accounting Nottingham Lions have added to the squad with the signing of Lithuanian Ruslan Cernych.
The 23 year old defenceman has lots of hockey experience acquired from leagues around the world with spells in his native Lithuania, USA, Czech Republic, Spain, Netherlands and this season England as he has iced with the Milton Keynes Thunder for 2 games this season.
Cernych said of his move to the NIC "I’m glad to represent the Nottingham Lions this season. I had a trial session and was satisfied with the teams set-up and dedication. The guys are friendly and working hard. Looking forward to contribute as much as I can and reach the best results possible together as a unit."
Head coach Matt Bradbury added “It's our job as coaches to get the best from Ruslan to help the team and his team mates. Its quite evident that he is hungry to play and feel confident that he will be another piece of the jigsaw to build confidence within the ranks and take us to the next phase of the season. I see something in Ruslan's game that will really add some key elements to the team and definitely strengthen areas of our young side too. We look forward to getting to work with Ruslan and seeing him on the ice in the black and gold.”
Cernych will make his Lions debut in this weekend's trip to Blackburn and will make his home debut the following weekend against Whitley Bay on Sunday 21st October.
