With just a matter of days until the opening of the 2014/15 Laidler D2 campaign, the Nottingham Lions are pleased to announce the return of familiar face in Reece Glossop.

The forward becomes the latest player to re-sign at the National Ice Centre and adds depth and experience to further flesh out the Lions' attacking core.

At just 20 years-old, Reece is the longest serving player within the Nottingham development system, with fifteen years experience, three of which were representing the Lions pride, including the 2012/13 championship winning season.

The Nottingham native has always been a hard worker, bringing a defensive style of play to the Lions' offence and Reece took time out to speak to nottinghamlions.co.uk this week and had this to say about heading into his fourth senior season:

"I think what's changed the most for me since I first started with the Lions is the role I've played for the team, when I first started I was always in the shadow of the senior guys and never really saw much ice, now I've been a near enough regular and I'm gaining experience all the time."

The enthusiastic youngster also shared his thoughts on the season ahead saying:

"I'm looking forward to be playing again with all my team mates from last season and all the new faces as well, the atmosphere is great in the changing room, it's going to be a long season but we've got a great bunch of guys so it will be great fun!"

Head coach Matt Bradbury had this to say about the gritty two-way forward:

"Reece is a Nottingham player through and through and it's great to see him back - by doing the simple things right and reacting to situations quicker and shooting the puck more this season I would expect him to weigh in with more points."

"Being a passionate character playing with fire in his belly is another attribute of Reece's and I'll be looking for him to play with composure, control and focus - channelling his energy to get maximum productivity."

Bradbury went on to add: "Reece plays a strong defensive game, but I'd also like to see him chasing down opposition defences too and really make a nuisance of himself."

As the summer comes to an end and the Lions roster nears completion, keep your eyes on nottinghamlions.co.uk for more signing news over the next few days!
