Everyone at the pride would like to congratulate Lions forward Reece Glossop on recently completing a Tough Mudder run and obstacle course, all in aid of Help For Heroes.

Tough Mudder events are hardcore twelve mile-long courses and are renowned as one of the toughest adventure challenge series in the world. They are specially designed by the Special Forces to test participants all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie.

Reece was suspended when the Lions took on the Blackburn Eagles in their first game of the season on September 7th, so rather than having to watch his teammates from the stands, he decided to rise to the grueling challenge and raise some money for a worthy charity in the process.

Aside from the running, Reece had to experience knee-deep mud pits, scaling high walls, electric shocks and crawling through tunnels, whilst submerged in ice-cold water but he managed to conquer each arduous hurdle and finished the course in an impressive time of 2 hours 27 minutes.

So far the Tough Mudder races have raised over £3million to help injured servicemen and Glossop was pleased to add his own contribution to that total; saying,

“It’s a hard challenge for us civvies but nothing compared to what the challenges are like for our boys that have been injured while on duty!”

“It was a great experience and a fantastic opportunity for me to do something and raise money for a worthy cause – also having family members who have served in the forces it was an honour and something I would definitely do again.”

Reece now turns his attention to his next big challenge – an away trip to the Coventry Blaze this Sunday (22nd September) with an 8.15pm face off.
