The final double-header weekend of the season now awaits the Nottingham Lions this weekend, as already promoted local rivals Sheffield Senators host Matt Bradbury's side at Ice Sheffield on Saturday evening (21st March - 6.30pm) before the roles are reversed the following day, as the Senators make the short journey to the National Ice Centre on Sunday night (22nd March - 7.30pm).

Fresh from last Sunday's 7-3 home victory over Blackburn Eagles, a rejuvenated Lions team will be looking to build on their three-game unbeaten run but know they will be facing strong opposition in the shape of the Senators, who have lost only one game since the turn of the year.
Nottingham are still waiting to take their first points off the South Yorkshiremen in this campaign, after two odd-goal defeats in 2014. A 5-4 loss at the NIC back in September was followed by November's narrow 4-3 defeat at Ice Sheffield, where a short-benched Lions side were denied a much-deserved point, after the Senators snatched a winner in the final three minutes of play.

With local pride at stake and the prospect of a fifth-place finish in the NIHL Laidler D2 standings still on offer, Nottingham will be pulling out all the stops to continue their recent good form, whilst Coach Bradbury will be hoping for the return of Lee Holland, Christy Johnson-Brown and netminder Warren Gilfoyle, who all missed out on last weekend's victory against the Eagles.
For those that can't make the trip to Ice Sheffield on Saturday, live updates can be found by following the Lions' official Twitter feed, whilst ticket details for Sunday's return match at the NIC are available by clicking here.
Make sure you're in the Lions' den this Sunday for what promises to be another hard-fought, close encounter between two fierce local rivals.
