The Nottingham Lions make the tricky trip to Solihull on Sunday evening to face a formidable Barons side at their compact Hobs Moat Road rink.

Action from last month’s 2-1 win at the NIC.

The Lions are fresh from picking up three points from a possible four last weekend, after a 4-4 tie in Hull on Saturday evening, followed by a 4-3 home victory over Coventry Blaze the next day.

The Barons were without a game last weekend and last saw action on September 22nd with a convincing 12-0 home win over Sheffield Senators.

A road trip to Solihull Ice Arena to take on the Barons is well-renowned as one of the toughest away challenges in the country and last season’s visits saw mixed fortunes for Matt Bradbury’s Nottingham side.

Last December saw the Lions take the two points with a narrow 2-1 win thanks to goals from Luke Branin and Gareth O’Flaherty, whilst March’s visit saw the newly-crowned champions on the wrong end of an 8-0 defeat.

The only meeting between the two teams this season ended in another close 2-1 victory for the Lions, at the National Ice Centre last month.

Chris Allen, Neil Adams, Robert Perks and Connor McNaughton are all available for selection to face their former club, whilst captain Luke Thomas misses out after picking up a match penalty in last Sunday’s win over Coventry.

If you can’t make the trip down to cheer on the boys then don’t forget you can follow all the action as it happens via the Lions’ official Twitter feed. Just click here to follow.
