Nottingham Lions vs Altrincham Aces

Following the Lions fantastic 7-2 victory on the road at "Champions Elect" Deeside Dragons the team have a home game tonight against the Aces.

The Altrincham team have experienced a very mixed start to the season having lost to the Dragons 9-1 but following that reversal a 1-6 road trip win at Coventry Blaze. It would be true to think that following that success a visit to Altrincham by a Blackburn Eagles team the following night might have been considered a good end to the weekend with a good chance of a four point haul on the cards for the Aces. The Eagles having been soundly beaten at home by the Dragons 1-11 must have travelled to the Aces with some concern but as it turned out it was the Eagles that returned home to Blackburn having pocketed the two points with a 2-3 win.

The Aces will be itching to get their season back on track with another away win following their last success on the road and the Lions will need to be up for a certainly tough encounter at the National Ice Centre this evening.

Coach Matt Bradbury is keen to put last nights victory behind them "We were outstanding last night and stuck to the game plan and did we do best, but last night is done and dusted and we must get ready for another big 60 minutes ahead as we take on the Aces."

"We've got a smart young bunch and we will regroup and be prepared.  We learnt so much last night against the Dragons that we can still build on and every player has a role to play and a job to do."

"The spirit in the camp is high - as it should be, but we must control our emotions and thing about the job in hand."

There are no easy games but the Lions have shown the right attitude in their opening games and have applied themselves to the task of making a positive showing in a much stronger Conference this season.
