Lewis Jones is the latest signing to be announced by head coach of the Nottingham Lions Matt Bradbury as he joins the club from the Haringey Huskies of NIHL2. The twenty-one-year-old iced 25 times for the Huskies last season scoring 18 points and accumulating 40 penalty minutes.

Matt Bradbury spoke of Jones’ signing stating: “I look forward to working with Lewis this season. He's clearly passionate about his hockey and from what I've seen already he'll be another asset to our team. It will be a jump up for him next season and I'm quite sure it will be a change for him. But I'm sure he will relish the challenge and adapt his game accordingly.”

Also joining the Lions is nineteen-year-old defenceman Callum Medcalf. After a career so far with the Peterborough Phantoms, he’s a player whose not afraid to throw his body around as he picked up 52 penalty minutes in 26 games last season, and he’ll be looking to force his way into Matt Bradbury’s top lines over the coming campaign.

Bradbury, who has his roster almost completed with the signing of Medcalf said of the signing: “Callum is moving up to Nottingham to study at NTU and he got in touch with me over the summer. He is another solid young addition to our squad. He will need to adjust his game to enable him to make the step up to NIHL 1 North and we can offer that opportunity. He skates well, works hard and his puck distribution is good. He will definitely be put into situations he's never been in and I'm sure he will rise to the challenge. Having a player like Callum coming in will create even more competition for places which will only strengthen our cause.”
