Whitley Warriors are the visitors to the NIC this Sunday (29th January) as the Lions look for their first points of the new year to kick-start their ascent up the table.

The ENL Division 1 North standings do not make attractive reading for Nottingham at present with the Lions in the bottom two and with all the teams above and below them having games in hand.

However with eight games to go, their own fate could very much still lie in their own hands but points are needed sooner rather than later.

Opponents don’t come much tougher than the second-placed Warriors who have already toppled the Lions twice this season, but Nottingham did come away from Whitley Bay Ice Rink with a credible 3-3 tie back in October which will give the Lions hope a positive result can be achieved.

Since the turn of the year, Whitley have had some mixed fortunes having won two, drawn one and lost one – the loss coming at Trafford Metros by a 6-2 scoreline.

The Lions will be hoping to build on a strong performance against the Hawks at Blackburn Arena last Sunday, where they were just edged out by three goals to one.

Face-Off at the National Ice Centre is at 7:15pm – Come on down and join the roar!!!
