The forward put pen to paper on a contract at the National Ice Centre, in the summer of 2017, joining from NIHL Laidler Conference D2 side Hull Jets.

Having played in his hometown of Hull for most of his career, Maughan also had a brief spell at Ice Sheffield, with the Spartans, where he iced 46 times, scoring 6 goals, over a two season spell between 2013 and 2015.

Maughan then returned the Jets organisation, where he continued to feature over between 2015 and 2017.
