Hockey is in the Glossop family DNA and Paul has been in and around the game for over thirty years, with members of his family previously icing for and helping to run the Nottingham Panthers, whilst his own offspring currently play for the the club's junior and senior teams.
Despite his hockey roots, Paul was a semi-professional footballer in his younger days before a serious injury ended any hopes of a professional career.
'Gloss' has now been coaching at the Nottingham Ice Hockey Club for the past nine years and even started playing rec hockey for the Ashfield Avalanche at the tender age of forty!
During his coaching career, he has been part of numerous successes, winning league titles with the Under-12s, Under16s, Under-18s and also, leading the Under-10s to a league championship, after a long, ten-year wait.
In between all his success with the NIHC, he also had the honour of being appointed Head Coach of Midlands Confernce Under-11s side, leading them to three consecutive finals victories and picking up two 'Coach of the Tournament' awards, along the way.
Paul joined the Lions' coaching staff at the start of the 2011/12 season and is also currently in his second year as Under-14s (A) Coach, as well as being appointed Head Coach of the 2013/14 Midlands Conference Under-13s.
Over the years, he has also had the opportunity to play in Detroit's Joe Louis Arena, as well as going away with the GB Universities squad to Vierumaki in Finland.
